I am using Windows 7 home premium 64bit. I could install the software well but when unable to activate the software. When i click register and enter the license code given to me, it just hangs and nothing happens. In the column Licensed to: it shows as unregistered. Please help, how can i get it activated.

Sorry for the inconvenience.
We had this morning some problems with our license server as some people tried to avoid our activation service. These problems are now all fixed since some hours and you should be easily able to activate your copy with the given license key.

MemberI too am still having problems its now 12.36am here in the UK and even though the registration completes and says the software is activated if i then launch Mediabase and go to about it is still saying unregistered. I've had an email with my serial key and I've entered it exactly, i even copied and pasted it but still no joy, I've installed some of the software you have had on your site before and it registered fine. btw i too am trying to install this on windows 7 ultimate x64 if that helps.

BlockedSeems Team Blitz's server is very busy right now, as team-blitz.de:3688 is not returning "READY" as it regularly should. (You can actually use Chrome to check if their server will respond; it's odd).
@teamblitz: How does people avoiding activation tie up your server? Isn't that not using your server? Or do you mean people are using leaked keys?

FWIW, in response to a comment on the GOTD main page re: the MediaBase activation being system specific, I set about trying to prove/disprove that, partly because I was just curious. :-) I found that if you tried to move the app from one Windows install to the next it didn't work. I also found that once I did that, I couldn't register the app normally using a new key -- the registration window would just hang or stall. Restoring a VM so it was the same as before I tried the moved copy of MediaBase, it installed & registered very quickly. My *guess* is that the dev(s), knowing how easy it is to *move* their app otherwise, added some DRM measures that could perhaps be triggered by a failed install as well as their intended purpose, stopping folks who've re-used a key. At any rate since server activation was/is necessary, I don't know that the servers will still activate MediaBase GOTD or if that's now been turned off for those GOTD licenses they gave out.

maybe I start myself repeating over and over again, but you should definitely contact us via our support mail address support@team-blitz.de, if you have any problems. We are happy to help everybody out.
We had yesterday some bigger problems with our license server not responding anymore to user requests. This happened because we experienced abusive use of our web service. Today we had only a short period of problems before we decided to blacklist some abusive IPs. Now, our activation service is stable again.
Of course, we keep all keys for installation valid until 13/07/2011. This means that you can activate your copy even a little bit more than the giveaway period promises. And please: You experiencing problems, then contact us!
But discussion goes also into another direction and I really want to give some more information as you all try to experiment with the "mysterious" config.bin file.
The config.bin file is encrypted with system specific data. The file contains your registration status and all settings you made inside MediaBase. The file is not intended to transfer to other computers. If you do so, MediaBase will not be able to proper work. In no way, we log your (somehow) abusive use of this configuration file.
So why are needing your activation? A really common misunderstanding in the need of activation is that MediaBase just wanna phone home. We offer beside of the main application, web services to Social Networks, called SocialConnect. Here you are able to upload your lists onto our servers, so that your friends can see your collections. Of course, MediaBase need some sort of identification data to serve the correct lists.
I repeat myself here again: In no way, we use your committed data for other purposes than stated. Please have in mind that our company is located in Germany and we are tied to our privacy laws. All data is confidential.
