Wishing i was like you HOss cause i get totally absorbed in games like this then when i get stuck i start lookin for cheats which i think i might be needing to do cause i can't find the things to make a light and know i need it for more then one area:) lol

You mentioned 40,000 downloads/activations. Is that 40,000 activations, or a combo of both? Because if it is 40,000 downloads, I would venture to guess that a large number of those downloads were repeats from people who couldn't get their first download to work.
I really don't think it was "a few" who had problems, judging by what I read on the comments page for the game. For every happy comment, there are many others who are happy and didn't comment. The opposite is also true. For every unhappy comment, there are many others who are unhappy and didn't comment.

MemberI still have 20GB after downloading and installing on my c: drive Bubby so it wasn't that on this end :) I still feel i had problems downloading it as i only received around 10kb/s for the entire download and it took around a hour to install and happy i read the comments on it taking so long to install or i would have thought it was just me.

MemberTo respond to administrator BB whatever -- I have 220 GB free space on my hard drive. I absolutely could NOT get this game to download - period!! And, as I said, I tried for 5 hours!!! There is NO reason for this to be so frustrating. AND - I still want to know if this is going to be repeated -- the game offer I mean. I think it should since there are at least 40,000 of us who didn't get it. Yeah, you say that 40,000 DID get it, but like pretzel mentioned there are those who don't say anything. I guess that I'm just expressing my frustration with your site. I NEVER had these problems until you went to wikisend.

MemberBubby & the GOTD Team....just wanted to give you a word of encouragement after reading so many negative comments. I can't even begin to imagine how you guys must feel at the end of the day after "listening" to all the complaints. I do understand the "players" frustrations, as I've had my share of them too, but slamming you guys sure doesn't solve anything. I had some trouble at first getting the download site to work but I just kept checking throughout the day and eventually it worked. Maybe just too many people trying to access it all at once???? I had no install or activation issues, so I guess in this case I was one of the lucky ones. As for the d/l, I do have a cable internet connection but it is not one of the fastest you can get and by no means is my pc one of the biggest, fastest, newest, top o the line etc. so I really don't think that's the issue. Anyway......hang in there......better days will come.

bluhoteyes - That is my problem, I give up easy and then I use the cheats. I couldn't even get out of the garden at the allotment with out help. I had to use the cheats to get out. I swear I looked in the same place 5 times and didn't see the answer (*trying not to give anything away and ruin it for someone). I have gotten better at finding the clues but am still not good at it by any means.
I agree with Buckleysmom, it must be tough to "hear" all the complaints and still smile at the end of the day. There is bound to be problems with a game file this large and there may not be much you can do about it. Maybe investing in bigger servers might help but that may not be worthwhile since not all the games are this size. It is also possible the some of the problems were on the users end and there is nothing that you can do about that. What ever the problem, I hope it can be worked out for next time. :)

MemberI didn't manage to get the game either, and I downloaded it 3 times. My problem was that I kept getting the message that the giveaway period had expired - but this started around 3 or 4 in the afternoon. I tried all of BuBBy's suggestions, but nothing helped, and I just wanted to scream every time that stupid message box came up. This has happened before, but I've managed to get it to go away with another download or just re- opening the file. (sigh)
