I downloaded this program and activated it like I have done with so many other files here….the first time I tried to use it, January 6th it said I was on day 3 of a 30 day trail…what gives…I thought it was supposed to be a GIVEAWAY like all the other files here????? I cant reactivate it now as the error is that it's too late...dang

That means that the activation sequence actually failed. If it had worked, you would not have seen any trial messages to begin with. What to take from this? If anytime it says trial day x of x....re-run activate.exe or the setup program if the activate program is embedded into it.
Sorry to hear about your case - nothing we can really do now.
Things also to keep in mind when activating. Make sure the use account you use has administrative priviledges (it probably would if you can install stuff unless it's just a WinZip self-extractor file [ex. some of the GAoTD games]). There was a case in which I installed something which I thought was successful but because my user account didn't have sufficient priviledges it seemed activated but it wasn't.

It's still early days for GOTD and this forum, but in time it'd be nice to have a 'thanks' button to press.
I'm not trying to embarrass tjchan here, or anyone else, because all who are posting helpful info & explanations certainly aren't doing it for the glory! However -- and even though tj's post (above) isn't actually of relevance to me -- I'd certainly have hit the thank you button for that and other contributions.

MemberThis is now not activated for me either. It doesn't REALLY matter because if you're a regular visitor to GOTD, you have back up audio converters. :)
But I opened the program the one time I decided to use it, and it's started giving me the trial screen "Day 1 of 60" (Even though I actually installed months ago... it said day 1 when I opened it a few days ago).
I'm assuming tjchan is right, but I did activate properly and did get an "activated, what next" screen. But I never did open the program, because I didn't need to convert anything then.

I believe this may be a bit deceiving - I have not had the chance to test this, but I think that in a scenario where the registry file did not write, the wrapper regardless would still open a webpage that says "Activated, what next?" even though it did not really activate.

I am having trouble activating today's mp3 converter. I am able to install it in my machine, which is the host to a virtual computer from vmware and a mojopac.
The virtual computer installs and runs without a problem, but, even though the activation and installation process happens without a glitch, when I start the program in the mojopac device all I get is a 40 day evaluation. I spent the best of 2 hours trying to make it work, but no dice.
I have done this procedure for weeks, installing the GSOTD and GGOTD software in all three "Computers" and, although the software doesn't always run in all three, I never had problems with the activation part until today.
After reading Jonparks message about "Direct Audio Converter and CD Ripper" I checked my copy and it worked fine, but the interface looked a lot like the MP3 converter's, so I checked and sure enough they are both from Piston Software. There seems to be a connection between bad activations and Piston Software. Maybe somebody should take a look at it to make sure that everything runs like it should.
I checked registry files between Mojopac and host and they looked identical. I checked installation folders and also no difference. Something else is going on, but I am too tired to keep checking and there's only 30 mins left.
I'm going to bed.
