Until now, I have never had an issue with registration of software from this site.
Yesterday, July 14th, around 11 p.m. EDT, after checking the comments several times throughout the day, I installed Folder Marker as I did with the other 15 to 20 applications I enjoy from this website. (d'led, opened file, read the "Read Me" file, closed other running apps and installed by clicking the "Set-Up" portion)
Security asks if I want to allow communication...I "allow" and get the little "GAOTD activation successful" but w/ no registration info because it wasn't supposed to be necessary. Installation goes smoothly, or so it seemed.
Then, as always, a browser window opened to the Giveaway page that indicates:
"Folder Marker Home 3.0 activated -what next? ...Please tell your friends and colleagues about us...note they have only 3 hours and 18 minutes to download and install their copy of Folder Marker Home 3.0...."(http://www.Giveawayoftheday.com/folder-marker-home30/?activate)
(I have an image of this confirmation page on Imageshack, with the FM3.0 icon in the background desktop, if that helps....though doubtful.)
Yet, when I booted up to use the software today, my copy of FMarker, says it's a 30 day trial, instead of being registered to GiveAwayOfTheDay. My antivirus/firewall application has a rule that allows the FM3.0 and allows activation /communication with GAOTD. I've never had a problem with registration in the past. Please help me if there is a fix for this. Did a registry key "end up with the wrong data"? Since it was installed and activated during the proper hours, is there a piece of information, somewhere on my hard drive that might need to be moved?
Thanks for reading and any advice would be appreciated. I did write to Arctic Line, but due to the "No Support" status, I'd be surprised if they helped me.
