Hi - Does anyone know if iWin's free games (that make you watch ads) do the same thing with your computer that MostFun's do (use your computers resources)? iWin makes you be connected to the internet to even play the games. I've tried Game House's free games and you are able to block the games internet access in your fire wall program and you can still play the game - you then just get a message about signing up with Game House. This way you can prevent them from using your computer and still play the free game.

I'm not sure, but when I did download and install aniWin game that was free earlier this year; when I tried to delete it, it caused untold problems for ages. I eventually had to sift through the registry, manually deleting entries that were associated with iWin.
Personally I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole, but as for the surreptitious use of your bandwidth, check out the E.U.L.A. It will tell you in that whether they would share your bandwidth. That does mean starting the install process, but so long as you don't agree, nothing but a few entries related to downloading and unzipping the program should be added to the registry.

niagara94 . . . any chance you could post the names of the files from GH that you blocked w/your firewall. I've been trying to disable the "dialing out" part from these GH "free" w/ads games since my first install w/o any luck at all.
On another point, I've noticed no damage from allowing the connection(s), but I'd still rather disable the unwanted connection.
Just the blocked files from any ONE GH game should suffice?
Mine wants to connect as soon as I hit the game icon.Posted 16 years ago #
