In the Netherlands we are getting a lot of phishing spam. In the past those mails contained so many spelling errors that most of us did not trust them. But lately I am getting phishing mails that are written in perfectly good Dutch. The latest mail from PayPal is an example.
As a countermeasure you could consider using the plus-option of Gmail. If your Gmail-address is johnnyboy_1958@gmail.com, you could (as an example) use johnyboy_1958+paypal_verisekret17@gmail.com as your PayPal mail adddress. Gmail will deliver those mails in your normal Inbox. With Thunderbird, you can mail from the address johnyboy_1958+paypal_verisekret17@gmail.com to PayPal and bcc that address.
