I'm running MS Office Outlook (2003) and it crashes before it completely opens. I use email and the calendar, my email downloads but then it seems when the calendar reminders are loading is when it crashes. I have to just keep restarting the program till it finally finishes and stays open....sometimes 6-7 times. I've tried to find a solution at the MS help site but haven't found what I need. Does anyone else have this problem? Does anyone know how to resolve it?

Thanks Robert.
That sounds like just what I was looking for. I'll let you know how it turns out. Sure hope this is the "fix".

Hi Robert O/
Well, I tried that but it didn't help. Some of the statements on that site say that the problem is a corrupted .pst file, yet when you follow the instructions you're setting up a new profile but using the same .pst file. It's where your data is. So if the problem is that file and you're using it with the new profile doesn't it stand to reason you're "taking the problem with you"? Do you follow me?

Hi Buckleysmom (Roxie)
If the problem lies with the .pst file, here are some links to help fix it:

I hope these articles help you put that problem to rest

Paul....I went to the first link you posted, the howtogeek, and followed the instructions to run the repair and I do believe it worked. I was able to start, shut down and restart Outlook 3 times in a row with now crashes. YIPPEEEEE! I'll have to see what happens over the next few days but hopefully this did the trick.

Thank God for that ... You are welcomed
And now back (Mine is killing me BTW) to these boxes (14 in all) the movers finally brought here (after a 5 weeks delay) this late afternoon, OUCH ...

OUCH is right! I'll send you some Tylenol. If I were nearby I'd pop on over and help unpack. I love doing that when it's someone else's stuff.....kinda like opening Christmas presents. :)
Feel better!

Paul.. just wade through them one box at a time.. then it won't be so overwhelming!

If you suspect/have a corrupted reminder cache in outlook 2003:
go to Start > Run and enter
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office11\Outlook.exe" /cleanreminders(or even outlook /cleanreminders will do the trick)
This command line will clean and regenerate your reminders.

Hi Robert.
Ok, I did that and it opens/runs Outlook. But there's no indication that it cleaned or did anything. Is it supposed to show something?
Thanks

Hi BK
Nope.It doesn't show anything. But it should have restored your calendar reminders or flushed the corrupted/deleted ones.

OK....I'll just wait and see what happens. Sure would be nice if this would fix it. I'll keep you posted....:)
