Hey Folks; about the WonderFox Video Converter:
- It's a Lifetime License for 1 computer but, get this: No reinstalls allowed. I've seen this kind of limitation before, and it will kill the program if you move to a different computer.
- To download and register, you have to download a.zip file with a readme containing another link which downloads a .zip with a readme containing another link, which should download an actual executable along with a readme containing the License Key.
- I hope I'm remembering this right; 'sorry if not, but if you keep moving from link to link and save the last readme, you should be successful.
- To the good folks at GOTD: thanks so much for all your good work, but does it have to be so convoluted? (lol). Yeah, life is messy sometimes.

The GOTD readme.txt file includes a link to the WonderFox giveaway page, which has links to individual .zip files for each app offered. Each .zip file contains a Word .docx file that includes the following...

Ant Download Mgr. -- install up to January 31, 2024, no length of license given, included link to setup file only.

Ashampoo® Backup Pro 17 -- install anytime, lifetime license, included link to setup file only, must use Ashampoo account to register.

Batch Picture Resizer 12.3 -- no details given, and installed app just shows "registered", though many giveaways from SoftOrbits have had 6 month licenses. You 1st download a downloader that when run opens a dialog to get a free key -- it's also where you enter the key once you've got it. When you click to get a free key it opens a web page where you enter your email. You'll get an email with a link to verify the email address, & are asked for more info to set up an account on the web page that opens -- that web page will then show your key -- Note: I did not receive an email with the key, so make sure you save it. When you enter that key in the previous dialog you'll see a few web pages and then the app will open.

DoYourClone -- install as many times as you want during giveaway period but Not after, lifetime license, key included in .docx file, link to trial version setup file.

Malware Hunter Pro -- 1 year license, offer available until December 25, 2023, link to web page where you enter email for key, link to setup file.

HD Video Converter Factory Pro -- setup file included with initial download, key in .docx file, no license duration or term given, when you run setup you'll get a notice to download a newer version -- it will work with giveaway key.

Tried to install picture resizer. Window asking for code has no place to enter email, so could not proceed

I have just downloaded the program and the registration window
has all the necessary fields. Just move the registration window as I suppose you
see only a part of it.

Please disregard my previous negative comments. I did not read the "readme" file well enough; it does include a registration code (in very tiny print, so watch for it).

Do we need to uninstall previous versions of the software before installing any of these? I have a previous version of Ant Download Manager. or can we just install over the older version?

Mike , The new version asks you whether you want to install over the previous installation or keep it. I had the x64 version 2.10.2, so I opted to keep the old one and not install the new one (x32) version 2.10.7.

Mike, with many [most?] GOTD offers you *probably* want to uninstall the older version so that the old key is deleted -- otherwise the new version can show it's already activated, and if that old key expires, you'll no longer be able to use the new key. Some, like many Ashampoo apps, will install next to the older version, so that you have both -- sometimes that's a good thing, sometimes not.

RG, Thanks. I am also currently running a X64 version of ADM 2.10.2. It want to install a X32 version 2.10.7. over it as well. I might just stick with the old version.

Hi,

Thanks for the generous giveaway, but I have a question before I install. Not to look a gift software package in the zip, but the license details only say "No upgrade & technical support" but does not mention if it's a 30 Day, 90 Day, 1 Year or Lifetime License (or some other, less used, duration).

I'd like to know before installing so many items, and if it varies for each, well... ya didn't say that either! I only ask first because I have other software that does what most of these do already.

David Jaynes, After installation, Batch Picture Resizer only says "Registered" in the "About" section and there is a "Promo" icon at the bottom left of the screen. Nothing else that I could find. Sorry.

As I install other products, I will update this thread.

RG, Glarysoft Malware Hunter is a one year license. The download was blocked by Google Chrome as unsafe, but VirusTotal detected no viruses. Installed without any problems.
