To all. For me it is totally useless to burn DVDs, certainly Blu-ray DVDs (never kept busy). It is old -fashioned today! I have 675 movies that can play via the USB port of my 2K Smart flat screen and they have a most of an image resolution of 1920x800 pixels, not that old-fashioned 720x576 (PAL) of a DVD, there is even a film with an image resolution of 3840x2160 pixels . Why would I still want to burn movies in this century?

Why would it be to purchase Tipard Blu-ray player 6.3.36 or another Blu-ray player program if most PCs and laptops no longer have optical drive. The most PCs that are sold have a recovery folder D: \ where all installation files are, even that you cannot use. For example, an antivirus program where you have to wait a month to be able to remove that from your PC, so that the Free Windows Defender can take over the security of your PC!

Dylan Twigg, if you already have a blue ray player, is has its own software built in for free and that is all you need. Annual license is not for home use, sorry Tipard, your software is very good, but the timing for such software is 5-10 years in the past.

Dylan Twigg, Many of us,actually millions of us,still use BluRay and DVD players either built into our computers or as stand alone external drives.Your comment is pure foolishness and shows your lack of computer knowledge.

Dylan Twigg, external optical drives have been available for a long time.

Dylan Twigg, You are correct in that optical drives are not included with laptops and/or portable devices. However, optical drives are still available for internal (desktop) or external use. Optical media is also available. It may be considered a little outdated today, but all is available if one so chooses.

"Why would it be to purchase Tipard Blu-ray player 6.3.36 or another Blu-ray player program if most PCs and laptops no longer have optical drive."

By not including an optical drive, along with skipping provisions to mount an optical drive, manufacturers cut costs. And with laptops there's the added bonus of making them lighter & thinner. That said, many do buy PC cases that will accept an optical drive, or PCs that include an optical drive, and there are portable USB drives as well as inexpensive [~$10 - $20] adapters to connect a full size drive via USB. Why bother? Movies on Blu-ray use a higher bit rate, and so have higher quality than the same movies streamed. And while movies cost roughly the same on Blu-ray discs vs. digital copies, you can buy Blu-ray drives for PCs & laptops significantly cheaper than standalone Blu-ray players.

"The most PCs that are sold have a recovery folder D: \ where all installation files are, even that you cannot use."

*Some* do, many do not, and some have that partition hidden. You can optionally copy those files to an external drive, or write them to DVD or Blu-ray discs, and get rid of that partition so you can use the disk space. The most important files on that partition are manufacturer specific drivers, which can usually be downloaded from the manufacturer's site, or just copy them from where they're stored: C:\ Windows\ System32\ DriverStore\ FileRespository\.

Dylan Twigg, Millions of people have and still use both internal and external drives. They are still actively manufactured. You just spent a whole paragraph ranting and displaying ignorance. Wow.
